Kiddie Kare A'Kademie is a licensed, family-owned childcare center at 9244 39th Avenue in Kenosha, WI 53142 (Village of Pleasant Prairie). We've been serving Kenosha-area families since 1991 with programs for children ages 1 through 12, including toddler daycare, 3K preschool, Pre-K/K4, before and after school care, and summer camp.
We serve children from 12 months old through school age. Our six programs are: one-year-old daycare (Twiddle Bug Room), two-year-old daycare (Elmo Room), 3K preschool (Zoe Room), Pre-K/K4 (Bert Room), before and after school care (Big Bird Room), and Kamp Kaleidoscope summer camp for ages 5-12.
We are open Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM, year-round. Our 3K and Pre-K preschool classes run from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with before and after care available from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
We are located at 9244 39th Avenue in Kenosha, WI 53142 (Village of Pleasant Prairie). Our center is easily accessible from Highway 31, Highway 50, and I-94. We serve families from Kenosha, Pleasant Prairie, Somers, Bristol, Paddock Lake, and Salem Lakes.
Yes. We provide full-day care during winter break, spring break, teacher work days, and all summer long through our Kamp Kaleidoscope summer camp. We are closed only on major holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.

Meals, Nutrition, and Health
Yes. We serve breakfast every morning and two healthy snacks throughout the day. All meals are included in tuition at no extra charge. Parents pack a nut-free lunch for children attending during the midday hours. We are a 100% nut-free center.
Yes. No peanuts, tree nuts, or nut-based products are allowed anywhere in our building. This applies to all meals, snacks, and parent-packed lunches. We enforce this policy strictly to protect children with nut allergies.
Children with a fever of 101 degrees F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness must stay home. Children must be symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to our Kenosha center.

Programs and Curriculum
Our curriculum covers letters, numbers, colors, shapes, phonics, Spanish, American Sign Language, science, and character development. Each classroom builds on the previous year's learning. 3K (Three-Year-Old Kindergarten) is a voluntary early childhood education program available in Wisconsin. Kiddie Kare A'Kademie offers 3K preschool in the Zoe Room from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with extended care available from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Our 3K program covers the same foundations as public 3K in smaller classes with extended hours.
3K is for children turning 3 during the enrollment year (Zoe Room). K4/Pre-K is for children turning 4 by September 1 (Bert Room). Both programs run from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM with before and after care available. K4 builds on 3K skills with more advanced reading, math, science, and Spanish instruction.
Yes. Our Pre-K graduates consistently enter kindergarten at Kenosha-area schools ahead of expectations. They count to 100, write their name, recognize all 26 letters and sounds, perform basic addition and subtraction, and demonstrate strong social and emotional skills.

Tuition and Cost

Yes. We offer $10 per week off for families with multiple children enrolled (applied to the oldest child) and $10 per week off for active military, police, and fire department families. One discount per family.
Yes. We accept Wisconsin Shares (childcare subsidy) for eligible families. Contact your local Kenosha County office to determine eligibility, then call us at 262-705-2400 to complete enrollment.
Yes. After 6 months of enrollment, families receive vacation and sick day credits. A child enrolled 5 days per week gets 5 vacation days and 3 sick days per year. Credits are prorated for part-time schedules.
Safety and Security
Yes. We have a secure keypad entrance with controlled access. All visitors must check in at the front desk. Only individuals on your child's authorized pickup form are allowed to pick up your child. Photo ID is required for anyone unfamiliar to our staff.
Yes. Kiddie Kare A'Kademie has two fully fenced outdoor play areas with age-appropriate equipment that is regularly inspected. Staff supervise children at all times during outdoor play.
Yes. Every staff member passes a comprehensive background check through the Wisconsin Department of Justice. All teachers meet or exceed Wisconsin DHS standards and are CPR and first aid certified.
Yes. Kiddie Kare A'Kademie is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF). We are a member of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA). We have been licensed and operating since 1991.
Transportation and Location
Yes. We provide direct bus transportation to and from Jeffrey Elementary School, which is just 6 blocks from our center at 9244 39th Avenue. Students from other Kenosha-area schools are welcome, but parents arrange transportation to and from their school.
